On March 10, 2026 the Inter Boards Coordination Commission convened the National Education–Hockey Coordination Committee at the IBCC Secretariat in Islamabad to map out a national strategy for reviving school hockey through Pakistan’s education system.

The meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah and Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani and attended by directors of physical education from educational boards, representatives of the Pakistan Hockey Federation and former Olympians Hassan Sardar, Islahuddin and Khwaja Junaid.
The Federal Secretary IPC presented the IBCC–PHF School and Inter-Board Hockey Revival Program (2026–2029), a strategic roadmap aimed at rebuilding Pakistan’s hockey talent pipeline through schools and educational boards. The initiative focuses on expanding school-level hockey, organising inter-board competitions and creating a structured pathway for young players to progress to national representation.
Participants welcomed the roadmap and reaffirmed their commitment to collaborative implementation, underscoring the role of boards, schools and the PHF in restoring the sport’s grassroots strength. A joint steering committee, which will include former Olympians, was agreed to oversee the rollout and monitor progress toward the revival of school hockey across the country.
