Leopard footage that circulated on social media showing activity near the Islamic University H-10 campus prompted authorities to deploy camera traps across the area to monitor potential movement. The traps were installed in locations identified with guidance from wildlife experts to ensure effective surveillance.
A university spokesman said the administration remains in regular contact with relevant agencies and has issued SOPs aimed at protecting students and staff according to the situation on the ground. Wildlife teams have been instructed to stay alert and increase monitoring around campus access points.
The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board has been formally informed about the incident, and a special committee has been constituted to review developments and oversee ongoing monitoring. The spokesman added that coordination between university authorities and wildlife teams is being maintained to ensure timely response.
Monitoring efforts will continue while the university urges students and employees to follow the issued SOPs and report any sightings immediately so teams can respond promptly and maintain campus safety.
