Ms. Andreea Luca, an entrepreneur and journalist, visited the Embassy of Pakistan in Bucharest yesterday to brief Ambassador Ilyas Nizami on her business venture. She presented her takeaway outlet, Indus: Spice is Life, noting that it operates as the only Pakistani food outlet in Iași and aims to showcase authentic flavours to the local community.
Ms. Luca fondly recalled her experiences at several restaurants in Lahore during a visit to Pakistan, describing how those culinary memories influenced the menu and service at Indus Spice. Ambassador Ilyas Nizami appreciated her evident affection for Pakistani cuisine and the cultural ties it reflects.
Both the entrepreneur and the ambassador agreed that food offers enormous potential to promote linkages between the people of Pakistan and Romania. They highlighted culinary diplomacy as a practical way to deepen mutual understanding and encourage people-to-people engagement.
As the only Pakistani takeaway in Iași, Indus Spice is well placed to raise awareness of Pakistan’s culinary traditions in Romania and to support broader cultural and commercial connections between the two countries.
