Pakistan Philosophical Association marks its second anniversary at an Eid Milan Party as scholars and professionals gather to celebrate and share insights.

Members and guests gathered at the Eid Milan Party held alongside the 24th monthly meeting to celebrate the second anniversary of the Pakistan Philosophical Association. The event drew a wide cross-section of academics, former officials and community leaders who came together to honour the association’s work and exchange ideas.

Dr. Javed Iqbal Nadeem, president of the Pakistan Philosophical Association, welcomed attendees and reflected on the association’s founding by a group of men and women committed to philosophy. He outlined the association’s objectives, noting that the monthly meetings invite prominent figures to speak and share professional experience as part of a broader effort to foster thoughtful public discussion.

The gathering included notable personalities such as Ghalib Ali Bandesha, Dr. Akram Chaudhry, Dr. Shaheena Asif, Shehzad Bhatta, Tanveer Abbas Tabish, Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed Bukhari, Dr. Rizwana Khalil, Javed Iqbal Bhatti, Nasif Awan and Professor Atiya Syed. Representatives from civic and professional circles were also present, including Syed Qamar Abbas Shah, Dr. Idris Rana, Ishrat Shamim, Azma Zareen Nazia and others who contributed to the day’s discussions.

Dr. Nadeem emphasised that the study of philosophy seeks rational and logical answers to fundamental questions about existence, knowledge, ethics and reason. He described philosophy as a love of wisdom that asks why and how things happen and encourages reasoned debate on life’s concepts, a perspective that continues to shape the Pakistan Philosophical Association’s programmes.

Speakers and participants praised the association’s role in bringing together senior professionals from diverse fields in a busy public life. Dr. Shaheena Asif Chaudhry commended Dr. Nadeem’s efforts, calling the initiative of uniting friends and colleagues for sustained intellectual exchange both timely and commendable.

As part of the Eid Milan Party, commemorative shields were presented to honoured guests by Dr. Shaheena Asif Chaudhry, president of Rotary Club Shadman, and all attendees received special shields marking the second anniversary of the Pakistan Philosophical Association. The event reinforced the association’s local presence and its ongoing commitment to fostering philosophical conversation in Pakistan.
