The Pakistan Football Federation delegation led by president Syed Mohsen Gilani met with several leading football federations in Vancouver after attending the 36th AFC Congress, continuing a programme of PFF meetings ahead of the 76th FIFA Congress in Canada.
In a session with German Football Association president Bernd Neuendorf, the DFB offered full support for coaches education and the development of women’s football in Pakistan. The DFB extended an invitation for Pakistan players and coaches to visit Germany to benefit from its structured football ecosystem, a proposal the PFF delegation welcomed as part of long-term capacity building.
During talks with Canada Soccer president Peter Augroso, the PFF delegation thanked Canada for its hospitality during FIFA events and discussed cooperation on grassroots programmes and coach education courses. Conversations also explored staging an exhibition series in Canada with support from the Pakistan community, a step aimed at strengthening ties between local Pakistani talent and Canadian clubs.
The Chinese Football Association president Song Kai described relations between the two countries as those of ‘Iron Brothers’ and offered assistance in futsal training. The PFF invited Mr Kai to visit Pakistan, and both sides agreed to a more detailed follow-up meeting after the World Cup to plan joint activities in futsal and youth development.
Tajikistan Football Federation vice-president Dzhalilov Iskandor offered targeted support for training Pakistani referees and for goalkeeper coaching, and discussed cooperation on advancing women’s football programmes in Pakistan. These offers form part of practical proposals emerging from the PFF meetings to boost technical standards at home.
Officials said the discussions in Canada are part of a wider PFF meetings itinerary, with further bilateral talks scheduled with other federations to identify actionable steps for coach education, grassroots growth and referee development that can be implemented across Pakistan.
