Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Sarfaraz Bugti met in Islamabad to review plans aimed at accelerating Balochistan development and improving the wellbeing of its people. The session was framed around closer coordination between provincial authorities and federal institutions to ensure project delivery and effective governance.
Both leaders engaged in a wide-ranging discussion on socio-economic uplift, infrastructure expansion, education and healthcare improvements, and the responsible utilization of natural resources in the province. Emphasis was placed on prioritising projects that deliver tangible benefits to communities while respecting provincial priorities and capacities.
The Chairman of the Senate underlined the Federation’s commitment to equitable progress and highlighted the Upper House’s role as a strong advocate for the federating units. He reiterated support for measures that strengthen provincial autonomy and governance, noting that sustained Balochistan development is essential for national stability and cohesion.
The Chief Minister welcomed the federal backing and outlined ongoing development initiatives, stressing the provincial government’s determination to accelerate implementation through enhanced coordination. Senator Shahzaib Durrani also participated in the meeting and contributed to discussions on legislative and policy instruments to better address the needs of the people of Balochistan.
