Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Islamabad observed Bunyan-un-Marsoos Day with a campus-wide programme that brought together faculty, students, university leaders and administrative staff to honour the sacrifices and professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country.

The programme opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the National Anthem and an ISPR film that set a solemn tone. Under the Vice Chancellor’s guidance, commemorative sessions and Youm-e-Tashakkur activities were also held at the Federal Medical and Dental College, the School of Dentistry and the DPT College.

Students delivered heartfelt speeches that highlighted bravery, discipline and the sacrifices of the armed forces, while faculty members paid tribute to the soldiers safeguarding national sovereignty. The focus on Bunyan-un-Marsoos reinforced the message that Pakistan’s strength rests on unity, discipline and the courage of its defenders.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Tanwir Khaliq said that Bunyan-un-Marsoos Day symbolises resilience, unity and national harmony during difficult times and that the sacrifices of martyrs are recorded in golden words in the nation’s history. He acknowledged the professionalism and dedication of the Pakistan Army, Air Force and Navy in protecting the country’s integrity.

Tribute sessions and activities across the SZABMU campus honoured those who gave their lives for peace and security, and the event concluded with special prayers for peace, prosperity and for the eternal rest of the martyrs. SZABMU reiterated its commitment to educating competent healthcare professionals who are also responsible and patriotic citizens devoted to service of Pakistan and humanity.
