On May 6, 2026, representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan, led by Ambassador A. Movlamov, visited Capital Smart City, Pakistan’s largest smart city project located roughly 30 minutes from Islamabad.
The delegation received a detailed briefing on the master plan and development concept for Capital Smart City, a project designed to accommodate more than 1.7 million residents. Officials highlighted the integrated approach to residential and commercial zones alongside a dedicated financial centre and modern transportation links.
During the familiarization tour, the Embassy representatives observed key construction projects and infrastructure initiatives, including planned educational and healthcare institutions, tourism and recreational facilities, hotels and exhibition venues, and an international-standard golf course that form part of the broader development vision.
Special attention was paid to smart technologies being deployed across the project. Delegates reviewed intelligent traffic management systems, digital security solutions and video surveillance networks as well as modern energy and telecommunications infrastructure that underpin the Capital Smart City concept.
At the conclusion of the visit both sides commended the high standard of the solutions on display and expressed interest in exploring potential cooperation in the fields of urban development and innovative technologies, signalling an openness to future collaboration on smart city initiatives.
