A mission of international and national WHO experts is on the ground to support Pakistan’s Ministry of Health and Sindh’s Health Department as they investigate ongoing Mpox and HIV cases. The team is working alongside the Health and Population Welfare Department Sindh and several partner agencies to coordinate investigations and clinical guidance.
The visit prioritizes rapid assessment and the sharing of best scientific practices to inform local public health action. Emphasis is on evidence-based measures that can be implemented across Sindh to identify cases, protect vulnerable communities and strengthen clinical care pathways for those affected by Mpox and HIV.
Authorities say the collaboration aims to accelerate data collection, improve diagnostic and response capacity, and ensure health messaging is clear and targeted. By pooling national and international expertise, the mission seeks to support a timely, science-driven response to protect and save lives across the province.
