The National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence credited the Prime Minister and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir with a timely Pakistan mediation that the members said helped avert a potential global conflict between the United States and Iran. The committee, chaired by MNA Fateh Ullah Khan at Parliament House, described the intervention as a decisive diplomatic action at a critical moment.

Committee members called the Pakistan mediation a major diplomatic achievement that contributed to international peace and stability and reinforced the country’s role as a responsible actor in regional affairs. The committee reviewed the Pakistan Airports Authority Amendment Bill and unanimously recommended that the National Assembly pass the proposed legislation. Members said the bill carries national significance as it seeks to modernize aviation infrastructure, strengthen regulatory oversight, boost global connectivity and support economic development.
