On May 17 in Rawalpindi, Asma Ismail Butt, chief executive of Dolphin Communication and deputy chairperson of the Pakistan Horticultural Society Islamabad, visited the Langar Khana operating under former MNA and Sitara-e-Hilal Imtiaz Khan Zamarud Khan to assess its welfare work.
She was accompanied by Dr. Nusrat, Asma Malik, Kaleem Khan, Sheikh Saqib, Nomi, Jamal Shah, Malik Najeeb, Jahangir Ali and other members of the artist community who reviewed the food distribution, hygiene arrangements and overall management, praising the care provided to deserving people.
Asma Ismail Butt said that true living means sharing others’ pain, taking responsibility and serving humanity, and she urged continued social support for institutions that restore dignity to the underprivileged. She stressed that the Langar Khana offers both practical relief and renewed hope and that collective efforts are essential to strengthen such initiatives.
Khan Zamarud Khan welcomed the delegation and appreciated Asma Ismail Butt’s commitment to society, describing serving humanity as his life mission. He noted that the Langar Khana is not merely a short-term welfare project but a sustained effort to bring dignity, hope and respect to vulnerable segments of the community, and that collaboration with the artist community and social figures helps broaden its impact.
The visit highlighted the important role local leaders and cultural personalities can play in supporting humanitarian services in Rawalpindi and reinforced calls for continued community collaboration to expand assistance to those in need.
