APCC reviews PSDP projects and annual development targets, directing budgets and strengthening monitoring for effective completion across provinces.

The Annual Planning Coordination Committee (APCC) met under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal to examine PSDP projects, ongoing schemes and the annual development programme ahead of the next fiscal year. The session brought together federal ministries, provincial governments and relevant agencies to present development priorities and project proposals.

Engineer Ameer Zameer, Head of Monitoring and Evaluation, provided a comprehensive briefing to the committee on the progress and performance of ongoing projects and outlined strategic measures for future implementation. He emphasised the importance of effective monitoring and results-based decision making to ensure PSDP projects deliver tangible benefits.

Committee members carried out a detailed review of development targets, new PSDP projects and current schemes, considering resource allocation and the timelines needed for completion. Several new projects received approval with directions to allocate budgetary resources, while a number of proposals were deferred and excluded owing to the national austerity programme aimed at fiscal consolidation.

Deliberations stressed fair distribution of resources, alignment with national development priorities and stronger federal-provincial coordination to accelerate implementation. Planning Commission officers and chiefs participated throughout the meeting to refine project priorities and ensure the annual development programme reflects achievable targets.

In a post-meeting statement, Engineer Ameer Zameer described the APCC session as a key step toward harmonising federal and provincial planning processes and sharpening the focus on priority interventions. The committee underlined that enhanced monitoring and disciplined budgeting are essential to complete PSDP projects effectively and sustain Pakistan’s development agenda.
