A young man from District Swabi in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been selected to serve as a volunteer at the FIFA World Cup 2026, a milestone that highlights Pakistani talent on the global stage. The FIFA World Cup 2026 volunteer programme received more than one million applications worldwide, with roughly 15,000 candidates ultimately chosen, making this selection a notable achievement for the candidate and his community.
The volunteer, Naqash Khan, described the opportunity as both an honour and a responsibility. Over the years he has lived and worked in different countries, adapted to new environments, learned additional languages and embraced diverse cultures. Those experiences, he says, helped prepare him for the challenges and expectations of representing Pakistan at an event as large as the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Speaking about his selection, Naqash said, “Being part of the World Cup is a dream come true. I consider myself a representative not only of Swabi but of Pakistan and its young generation. I want the world to see Pakistan as talented, hardworking and dignified.” His words reflect a determination to project a positive image of his homeland while performing his volunteer duties.
Naqash also urged Pakistani youth to aim high and remain persistent. “Success does not come overnight. Behind every achievement are years of struggle, sacrifice and perseverance. If you believe in yourself and refuse to give up, no platform in the world is beyond your reach,” he said, encouraging young people to pursue both personal and professional growth through sustained effort.
Local pride in Swabi and across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is evident as Naqash prepares for his role at the tournament. His selection for the FIFA World Cup 2026 serves as an example that individuals from modest backgrounds can gain international recognition through dedication, adaptability and resilience.
For many young Pakistanis watching his journey, Naqash’s achievement stands as inspiration: a reminder that focused ambition, hard work and perseverance can open doors to global opportunities and allow Pakistan’s youth to be seen and heard on the world stage.
