Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission, Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan (HI,SI), visited King Edward Medical University (KEMU), where he was received by Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz (SI), Pride of Performance, along with the university leadership.
During the visit, the chairman was briefed on KEMUโs academic legacy, ongoing research initiatives, modern teaching facilities, faculty development programmes and student welfare efforts. He also toured different departments and reviewed the universityโs historic archives and its contributions to medical education in Pakistan.
Discussions focused on strengthening the quality of medical education, fostering research and innovation, enhancing faculty capacity and addressing key challenges faced by medical universities across Punjab. Both sides stressed the importance of academic excellence, effective governance and collaborative efforts to advance higher education and healthcare outcomes.
Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan appreciated KEMUโs longstanding contribution to medical education and research, noting its role in producing skilled healthcare professionals and supporting national healthcare reforms.
The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of PHEC and KEMU to promoting quality higher education, research excellence and institutional development in Punjab.
