DRAP launches Quality Month to strengthen regulation and QMS implementation across Pakistans national regulatory system this July.

The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan has begun Quality Month for July 2026 at its headquarters in Islamabad, setting the tone for a nationwide push to strengthen regulatory performance and embed a robust Quality Management System across the country’s national regulatory framework.

The opening session was inaugurated by DRAP Chief Executive Officer Dr. Obaidullah and WHO Representative in Pakistan Dr. Dapeng Luo. Officials from DRAP headquarters and field offices joined the event alongside representatives from provincial and federating unit drug control administrations, pharmacovigilance centres, and drug testing laboratories.

Throughout July, DRAP will hold a series of capacity-building and strategic engagement sessions focused on the implementation of the Quality Management System and the National Regulatory System Regulatory Strategic Plan. The initiative is designed to bring together regulatory stakeholders from across Pakistan and align their work around shared standards, coordination, and improvement.

According to DRAP, Quality Month is not limited to training alone. It reflects a broader institutional effort to strengthen a culture of quality, improve coordination among regulatory bodies, and support a system that is transparent, effective, and aligned with international expectations.

The authority said the nationwide programme is intended to enhance institutional performance and build greater confidence among stakeholders while contributing to the protection of public health through better regulatory oversight.

By linking quality with every process and decision, DRAP aims to move the national regulatory system toward stronger implementation and a more consistent approach across all levels of regulation.
