RAWALPINDI: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Salman Ghani visited the RDA project for the construction of a multi-storey commercial building on Plot No 13-A, Mayo Road, also known as Rashid Minhas Road, to inspect the pace and quality of ongoing work.
During the visit, the Commissioner reviewed the progress of the project and directed the officers concerned to further expedite construction activities to ensure completion within the stipulated timeframe.
He said the project was of strategic importance for the Authority and must be completed without unnecessary delays, while strictly adhering to approved specifications and maintaining high standards of construction quality.
The Commissioner also issued clear directions for implementing comprehensive safety measures at the construction site. In view of the ongoing monsoon season, he directed the project management to make all necessary arrangements to protect the structure, construction material, machinery and workforce from heavy rainfall and weather-related hazards.
He stressed that occupational safety, public convenience and uninterrupted progress of the project should remain the foremost priorities during execution of the work.
During the inspection, the Commissioner reviewed various components of the project and directed the engineering team to ensure close monitoring of all construction activities. He also instructed officials to maintain effective coordination among all stakeholders and ensure that no compromise was made on quality, transparency or safety standards.
The Commissioner reiterated that the timely completion of the multi-storey commercial building would enhance the institutional infrastructure of the RDA, improve its commercial assets and contribute to better public service delivery.
He reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to completing all ongoing development projects efficiently, transparently and in accordance with the vision of the Government of Punjab for sustainable urban development.
Additional Director General RDA Masood Ahmad Bukhari, Director Land Ghazanfar Ali Awan, Director Engineering Komal Chaudhry and other officers of the Authority were also present on the occasion.
