RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Peoples Party leader and president of Taraqqi Pasand Falahi Tanzeem Muhammad Aamir Siddiqui has said that youth are undoubtedly the backbone of any country’s development and play a vital role in raising the prestige of the nation.
Talking to workers in connection with International Youth Day, he said Pakistan was a blessing and a country rich in resources. He said Almighty Allah had blessed Pakistan with skilled and experienced elders as well as talented, courageous youth, who were a valuable asset of the country.
Aamir Siddiqui said August 12 was observed across the world, including Pakistan, as International Youth Day. He said the day was meant to address the problems faced by young people, provide them opportunities for progress and development, create awareness about prospects of education and employment abroad, and devise measures for their protection, guidance and future.
He said youth had played a frontline role in the creation of Pakistan and stood like a solid wall in the struggle for independence. History, he added, bore witness to their matchless sacrifices.
He said the need of the hour was leadership capable of refining this talent. Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he said, worked tirelessly himself and also benefited from the role of youth in the Pakistan Movement.
Aamir Siddiqui said that even after the creation of Pakistan, the country’s youth not only carried the spirit of nation-building but the world also acknowledged their practical role.
He said the nation had united to create a country, and now the country needed the nation. He stressed the need to unite under the green crescent flag and work as one nation to put Pakistan on the path of construction, development and prosperity.
He said Pakistan was fortunate to have a large part of its population comprising young people who were determined and hardworking. He said the youth were a symbol of the country’s development and prosperity.
Aamir Siddiqui said Pakistani youth had achieved success in every field, including sports, proved their capabilities and brought honour to the country. Such young people, he said, were a source of pride for the nation.
He urged the government to take steps to curb crippling inflation and provide relief to the people so that the nation could make its future highly educated and skilled and continue the journey of development and progress.
He said every day should be devoted to strengthening the resolve, hope and confidence of the youth.
