Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has conferred the Sitara-i-Imtiaz on Ms Aisha Rasool, Senior Consultant (Research & Opinion) at the Ministry of Law and Justice, in recognition of her distinguished contributions to public service, justice sector reform, legal education, digital transformation, alternative dispute resolution and international legal engagement.
Ms Rasool, who hails from South Waziristan, is the first Waziristani to receive the honour. She has more than 15 years of professional experience and holds an LL.M. from the University of York. She is also accredited by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK.
As Project Director of IMAC and CAMS, Ms Rasool has led major reforms in mediation, arbitration and digital case management. She has also represented Pakistan at the International Organization for Mediation and organised training programmes with Azerbaijan, China, Türkiye and Bangladesh.
Her work includes establishing the Federal Law Journal, authoring more than 28 research papers and launching the Federal Judicial Academy’s E-Campus. She also received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Prime Minister for innovation in public service.
The Sitara-i-Imtiaz recognises her leadership in justice reform, digital governance and global legal cooperation. Her journey from South Waziristan to national and international prominence has been described as an inspiration for women and youth across Pakistan.
