RAWALPINDI: On the directions of Commissioner Rawalpindi and Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Salman Ghani, an open auction of two RDA parking plazas in Raja Bazaar was held.
The auction was conducted for the parking plazas located at Fawara Chowk and in front of the Tehsil Office.
According to the details, the contract for the Fawara Chowk parking plaza was awarded to Mr Zabihullah. The annual rent for the plaza was fixed at Rs64.715 million.
The contract for the parking plaza situated in front of the Tehsil Office was awarded to Waseela Enterprises. Its annual rent was fixed at Rs4.685 million.
The auction committee completed the process in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations. Transparency, merit and adherence to rules were ensured during the auction of the parking plazas.
It was also decided to increase the annual rent of both parking plazas by 10 per cent.
The effective use of the parking plazas is expected to help reduce traffic pressure in Raja Bazaar. The RDA is ensuring transparent and effective management of its assets and properties.
