LAHORE: TECNO on Thursday launched the POVA Curve 2 5G in Pakistan, offering the smartphone in an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant at a price of Rs 99,999.
The company said the new handset has been developed around its “Beauty and Beast” concept, combining a slim curved design with a large battery and 5G performance features.
The POVA Curve 2 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G processor. According to TECNO, the chipset is aimed at gaming, streaming, multitasking and continuous connectivity. The company said the phone can deliver 90 minutes of Free Fire gameplay at 60fps, while Ice Cooling 3.0 helps maintain performance during use.
TECNO said the handset is TÜV Rheinland certified to remain lag-free for six years. For connectivity, the phone supports 20 5G bands. The company said its in-house technology provides up to 100 per cent stronger signals inside buildings and basements and up to 60 per cent stronger Wi-Fi, with TÜV certification. TECNO has described the device as the “Pakistan Signal King”.
A major feature of the POVA Curve 2 5G is its 8000mAh battery, which has been fitted into a 7.42mm body weighing 195 grams. TECNO said the device is the slimmest phone among smartphones carrying an 8000mAh battery.
The company said the battery can allow users to charge the phone every two days, while standby time is more than 15 days. It also carries TÜV certification for extended battery life of more than three days. The handset supports 45W wired fast charging, which TECNO said can charge the phone from empty to full in 82 minutes. It also supports 10W reverse charging and bypass charging. The battery has been built for 2,000 charging cycles, which the company described as six years of safe and durable use.
The smartphone features a curved 144Hz AMOLED display designed for smooth scrolling and gameplay. The screen offers peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits for visibility in direct sunlight.
For gaming, the phone includes 16x touch resolution and a 2160Hz instant sampling rate. TECNO said the touch response has been tuned for games including PUBG and MLBB. The device also includes multi-scenario anti-mistouch support, aimed at reducing accidental touches when hands are wet or oily.
The POVA Curve 2 5G design is inspired by interstellar spaceships and features flowing lines, a minimalist finish and a symmetrical layout around a triangular deco. The phone comes with IP64 dust and water resistance, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i display protection and SGS-certified 1.5-metre drop resistance. It is available in three colours: Melting Silver, Mystic Purple and Storm Titanium.
The camera setup includes a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 13MP front camera. TECNO has also included AI features such as AI Eraser 2.0 to remove unwanted people, pets and clutter from images, AI Flare Remover to reduce glare and haze, and Image-to-Live to turn still photos into moving images.
For everyday use, the phone offers AI Noise Cancellation for clearer calls. The Ella voice assistant supports two-way call translation, now including WhatsApp, along with WhatsApp summaries and one-tap question-and-answer support.
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G is available across Pakistan from October 15 in the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration at Rs 99,999.
