Uzbekistan Airways will operate additional regular flights on the Tashkent-Islamabad route from October 26.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 20: Uzbekistan Airways, the national airline of Uzbekistan, will introduce additional regular flights between Tashkent and Islamabad from October 26, 2026.

The airline currently operates flights on the Tashkent-Islamabad-Tashkent route twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Under the revised schedule, services will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The additional flights are aimed at expanding passenger transport capacity between Uzbekistan and Pakistan and providing greater convenience to tourists, business travellers and transit passengers. The revised schedule is also expected to offer passengers more flexibility in planning their journeys.

According to the details, the move is expected to create further opportunities for strengthening business, tourism and cultural ties between the two countries.

The new flights are likely to play an important role in increasing the number of tourists travelling from Pakistan to Uzbekistan. They are also expected to promote pilgrimage tourism and raise international awareness of Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural heritage.

Improved air connectivity will provide greater convenience to tourists wishing to visit Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, which are key historic centres along the Great Silk Road.

The enhanced flight schedule will also reinforce Tashkent’s role as a regional transport hub and create additional opportunities for organising tourist trips to other Central Asian countries.

In 2025, more than 20,000 tourists from Pakistan visited Uzbekistan. During the first nine months of the current year, the number reached nearly 20,000, highlighting the potential for further developing tourism ties between the two countries.

Overall, the increase in flight frequency on the Tashkent-Islamabad route is expected to strengthen transport connectivity between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, encourage two-way tourist flows, and expand trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

At present, eight scheduled flights are operated between the two countries each week. These include four flights on the Tashkent-Lahore route, two on the Islamabad-Tashkent route, while services are also operated between Tashkent and Karachi.

With the launch of the additional service, the total number of scheduled flights between Uzbekistan and Pakistan will increase to nine per week.
