The NGO World Foundation and Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan’s Al-Khidmat Islamic Microfinance (AKIM) have successfully collaborated to roll out AKIM’s livestock initiative by adopting The NGO World Foundation’s proven “Barkat Project Pakistan” model. Through continuous technical guidance provided by The NGO World Foundation, AKIM efficiently managed all stages of the cattle project, from animal procurement through to final sale, resulting in encouraging outcomes and setting ambitious plans for future expansion.

A recent review meeting at AKIM’s head office in Lahore provided an opportunity for both organizations to discuss progress and achievements. The NGO World Foundation’s BARKAT Project Coordinator attended as a special guest, alongside AKIM’s management team. During this event, AKIM representatives presented detailed insights into the project’s impressive outcomes and unveiled plans for an expanded second phase, whereby the organization intends to distribute 500 cattle across several locations in Pakistan.

Acknowledging NGO World Foundation’s crucial technical assistance, Director AKIM, Mian Babur Hamid, and President South Punjab, Mr. Ammar Yasir, expressed gratitude for the continuous support that has contributed significantly to the project’s success. Both organizations reaffirmed their commitment to scaling sustainable livelihood models through collaboration, ultimately aiming to foster economic stability and meaningful socio-economic change for communities across Pakistan.
