Patrolling Police Rescue Operation Saves Flood Affected Families

Punjab Highway Patrol Rawalpindi Region successfully rescued 12 families stranded due to flooding near the Indus River in Attock District, safely evacuating 90 individuals along with 120 cattle after a dedicated six-hour operation.

Responding swiftly to reports of flooding at the Bela area along the Indus River near Shadi Khan, Attock District, the Punjab Highway Patrol (Patrolling Police) Rawalpindi Region launched an immediate rescue operation. Led by Sub-Inspector Moazzam Munir, the patrol team reached the affected location promptly and quickly initiated emergency rescue measures.

Twelve nomadic families, totaling approximately ninety people including men, women and children, were severely affected by rising water levels. Recognising the urgency of the situation, patrolling police personnel diligently conducted rescue efforts, also ensuring the safety of livestock—successfully rescuing around 120 animals.

The operation, conducted under challenging circumstances, lasted approximately six hours. All affected families, along with their livestock and belongings, were carefully relocated to secure and safer grounds.

Expressing gratitude and appreciation, the rescued families commended the rapid response, compassion, and dedicated efforts of the patrolling police. The Punjab Highway Patrol reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public safety, emphasising they always remain ready and vigilant to aid people facing emergency situations and crises.
