Algeria will host the fourth edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2025) in partnership with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the Advisory Council on the Intra-African Trade Fair, the General Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area, and the African Union. Scheduled to be held at the Palais des Expositions du Pins Maritimes in Algiers, the event is expected to bring together more than 2,000 business exhibitors from approximately 140 countries, making it one of Africa’s largest trade-related gatherings.

Under the theme “Gateway to New Opportunities,” the fair aims to serve as an exceptional platform for companies to gain substantial access to the vibrant and expansive African market. Home to more than 1.4 billion people, the continent collectively generates a GDP exceeding $3.5 trillion, providing vast potential for growth and cooperation in trade and investment.

IATF2025 will prominently feature a range of strategically chosen sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing industries, energy, healthcare, finance, research and innovation, transportation and logistics, as well as startups. This diverse selection of industries highlights Africa’s continued commitment to fostering economic development, technological advancement, and innovation.

Trade agreements and investment projects expected to be concluded during the fair are projected to surpass $44 billion. This reflects a strong confidence in the trade potential within Africa as well as between African countries and international businesses.

Meanwhile, Pakistan maintains an enduring interest in strengthening economic ties with Africa, demonstrated through initiatives such as “Look Africa,” introduced in 2017, and “Engaging Africa,” initiated in 2019. These efforts underscore Pakistan’s commitment to expanding its economic and commercial engagements on the continent.

Algeria—the third-largest economy in Africa and the continent’s largest country by area—occupies a strategic geographic position in North Africa, serving as a crucial gateway connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa. Given its advantageous location and well-established economic infrastructure, Algeria presents significant opportunities for Pakistani enterprises seeking to deepen and expand their trade relations with Africa.

In this regard, Algeria has officially invited Pakistani authorities, business organizations, and private sector stakeholders to actively participate in IATF2025. Algeria emphasizes this event as an opportunity to open doors to new markets and foster mutually beneficial economic collaboration between Pakistan and Africa.
