Inclusive Planning for Pakistan Independence Day 2025 Celebrations

The federal government has convened a high-level coordination meeting chaired by Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal to finalize preparations for upcoming events marking “Maarika-e-Haq” and Independence Day 2025. The meeting resolved to ensure comprehensive participation from all segments of society and emphasized strengthening national unity, solidarity, and delivering a powerful collective message of hope, unity, and determination.

The meeting, chaired by Professor Ahsan Iqbal in Islamabad, saw the attendance of special assistant to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, as well as senior officials from ISPR, Cabinet Division, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Education, National Heritage and Culture, Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination, along with representatives from various other relevant ministries.

Key decisions taken at the meeting included the directive to involve people from all sections of society in the celebrations, ensuring representation from across all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir. Furthermore, participants emphasized the need to illuminate roads, highways, and cities to symbolize a powerful message of hope, unity, and enthusiasm to the international community.

Minister Ahsan Iqbal stressed the critical importance of clearly communicating the objectives of these celebrations to the younger generation and general public, ensuring widespread awareness and involvement. He instructed all relevant ministries to immediately initiate action on their respective responsibilities assigned during the meeting.

Addressing the participants, Minister Iqbal highlighted the significance of the Independence Day celebrations as a showcase of national solidarity, unity, and steadfast resolve. “We must celebrate this as a nationwide occasion in the most vibrant and meaningful manner,” he stated.

The Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, under its framework titled “Uraan-e-Pakistan,” is actively working to integrate this year’s celebrations into a sustainable, purposeful, and cohesive national narrative.
