The event underscored the importance of educational exchange between the two nations and provided practical guidance and networking opportunities.
Michael Chadwick, Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Consulate in Karachi, kicked off the session with opening remarks, emphasizing the significance of academic exchange programs and their role in strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and the United States. He encouraged students to make the most of this valuable opportunity to learn and grow academically, culturally, and personally.
A vibrant panel discussion followed, featuring current and recent students from American universities, who provided practical advice and shared firsthand experiences. Panelists offered tips on adapting to academic rigor, navigating campus life, and effectively adjusting to new cultural environments, answering participants’ questions and helping alleviate any lingering concerns.
The orientation culminated with a networking session and a high tea reception, enabling participants to build connections with peers who will soon be attending various U.S. institutions.
