Following the instructions from Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema, Assistant Commissioners carried out surprise visits and inspections at several petrol pumps across Rawalpindi district to ensure compliance with official regulations and standards.
During these inspections, officials identified instances of violations involving safety standards, overpricing, and measurement irregularities. Immediate fines were imposed on petrol station owners and operators found guilty of violating established guidelines.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the administration’s commitment towards protecting consumers’ rights and ensuring transparency and fairness within the fuel sector. He emphasized that such inspections would continue, and strict legal action would be taken against any petrol pump operators involved in unfair practices and violations.
