The Chaklala Cantonment Board has issued an urgent advisory to residents, warning them to evacuate structurally unsafe homes or those located near drainage channels in anticipation of heavy monsoon rains. The administration emphasized that this precaution is critical to safeguarding lives and property amid heightened risks of flooding and structural collapse.

According to the official notice, residents living in dilapidated, weak, or otherwise high-risk structures have been strictly instructed to vacate their premises and move to safer areas immediately. The Board warned that heavy rainfall could cause drainage channels (nullahs) to overflow or erode their banks, increasing the likelihood of dangerous incidents in vulnerable neighborhoods.

Authorities have underscored that individuals who choose to ignore this warning will bear full responsibility for any personal or property loss incurred. The Cantonment Board stated it will not accept liability for damages or casualties resulting from negligence or failure to evacuate in time.

This advisory serves as both a strong warning and a call to immediate action, encouraging residents to prioritize their safety and the wellbeing of their families. With the monsoon season underway and local officials on high alert, the directive forms a key part of the region’s broader efforts to mitigate disaster risks in flood-prone areas.
