**NSU Shines Internationally as Faculty Complete STEM Programme at King’s College London**

The National Skills University Islamabad (NSU) has further cemented its global academic standing after two of its female faculty members successfully completed a prestigious STEM Faculty Development Programme at King’s College London. This accomplishment highlights NSU’s commitment to cultivating world-class skills-based education and its growing influence on the international stage.

The achievement was made possible through the Pak-UK Education Gateway Project, a collaborative effort between the British Council and Pakistan’s National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE/HEC). The faculty development programme took place at several leading institutions across the United Kingdom, including the National STEM Learning Centre at the University of York, the University of Birmingham, and King’s College London.

Dr. Maryam Subhani from the Department of General Studies and Ms. Anita Bibi from the Department of Health Sciences and Technology represented NSU in this highly competitive initiative. Their participation and success reflect not only their personal dedication and growth but also NSU’s widespread commitment to continuous improvement, instructional innovation, and educational excellence.

During the programme, participants explored advanced teaching methodologies such as the Conceiving, Designing, Implementing, and Operating (CDIO) framework, and examined the responsible integration of generative artificial intelligence in education. Other key topics included authentic assessment with real-time student feedback, curriculum reforms aligned with outcome-based education principles, and promoting gender equity and sustainability in STEM disciplines.

The initiative also fostered strategic academic exchange and research collaboration between Pakistani and UK institutions, enhancing the global impact of Pakistan’s academic community and paving the way for continued international partnerships.

Commenting on the achievement, NSU’s founding Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar stated: “This success is not only a personal milestone for Dr. Subhani and Ms. Bibi, but a testament to NSU’s evolving academic ethos. As an internationally recognized institution, we aim to embed global best practices into our educational DNA and strengthen Pakistan’s future workforce through world-class faculty.”

Under Prof. Dr. Mukhtar’s leadership, NSU has transformed from a national entity into a globally acknowledged center of vocational and technical excellence. The university’s international affiliations and commitment to benchmarks in STEM education, skills development, and inclusive academic innovation continue to set it apart.

This latest accomplishment underscores NSU’s ongoing dedication to nurturing globally competent faculty, enriching the student experience, and enhancing Pakistan’s presence in international higher education forums.
