The Ambassador of the Netherlands to Pakistan, Henny Fokel de Vries, paid a farewell visit to Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Human Rights, to mark the end of her diplomatic mission in Pakistan. The meeting highlighted the strengthening of bilateral relations, especially in the area of human rights cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Minister Tarar commended Ambassador de Vries for her efforts in deepening the relationship between Pakistan and the Netherlands. He particularly acknowledged her role in fostering meaningful dialogue on human rights issues and championing the protection of minority rights during her posting.
Senator Tarar reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to upholding human rights, in accordance with the country’s Constitution and international commitments. He also briefed the Ambassador on Pakistan’s ongoing initiatives aimed at combating intolerance and promoting social cohesion across society.
In response, Ambassador de Vries expressed her gratitude for the support and hospitality shown by the Government of Pakistan throughout her tenure. She praised the positive and constructive engagement on key human rights concerns and assured that the Netherlands would continue to support programs advancing inclusion, tolerance, and democratic values in Pakistan.
The meeting concluded on a warm note, with both sides exchanging best wishes. Minister Tarar conveyed his good wishes for Ambassador de Vries’ future endeavors and voiced hope for the continued collaboration between Pakistan and the Netherlands on shared priorities and the promotion of human rights.
