SHOS Beijing Meeting Highlights Diplomatic Collaboration

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretariat (SHOS) convened a high-level meeting in Beijing, bringing together senior officials from the embassies of partner states, as well as representatives from the Chinese Foreign Ministry and SHOS member states. The session, led by Deputy Secretary-General Ahmad Saidmurodzod and Piao Yanfan, focused on strengthening regional cooperation, expanding international outreach, and preparing for upcoming summits under China’s presidency.

During the discussions, Deputy Secretary-General Saidmurodzod provided an overview of the collective activities and progress achieved by SHOS member states during China’s tenure as president. The meeting notably reviewed outcomes from the recent Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs session held in Tianjin and included updates on preparations underway for the upcoming Council of Heads of State meeting.

The agenda placed particular emphasis on the SHOS Secretariat’s efforts to broaden the organization’s international partnerships and to enhance its visibility and positive representation across global media platforms.

Participants engaged in in-depth exchanges on initiatives to increase the involvement of dialogue partners in SHOS’s multi-faceted agenda. Attention was also given to implementing the Roadmap aimed at intensifying cooperation and interaction between SHOS member states and their dialogue partners.

The meeting gathered diplomatic representatives from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bahrain, Egypt, Cambodia, Qatar, Kuwait, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, underscoring the organization’s expanding network and its ongoing commitment to regional and international collaboration.
