**Authorities Crack Down on Illegal Bus Stands in Pirwadhai, Rawalpindi**
In a move to enforce transport regulations, local authorities in Rawalpindi launched a targeted operation against illegal bus terminals in the Pirwadhai area. The action, undertaken on the directive of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema, was executed by the Secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA) in coordination with city officials.
The operation aimed to curb unauthorized transportation hubs that pose challenges to public order and traffic management in the bustling locality. Government representatives emphasized that such illegal bus stands contribute to congestion, disrupt the flow of vehicles, and can lead to safety concerns for both commuters and pedestrians.
The initiative is part of a broader drive to maintain law and order on public roads, in line with the official policies of the Punjab government under the administration of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Authorities stated that similar actions would continue to be taken against violators, ensuring the smooth functioning of the city’s transport system.
The crackdown reflects the government’s commitment to enforcing regulations and improving public services in Rawalpindi. Officials from the Public Relations, Information, and Media wing of the Directorate General Public Relations (DGPR) Punjab reiterated that maintaining discipline in transportation is essential for the welfare of citizens.
