**NIMA Successfully Concludes Maritime Education and Training Workshop in Islamabad**
The National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) has wrapped up a four-day workshop focused on maritime education, training, and capacity-building in Islamabad. The event brought together experts, young professionals, and industry stakeholders to address key issues such as coral reef preservation, sustainable maritime tourism, and strengthening value chain resilience within Pakistan’s blue economy.
Throughout the workshop, speakers including Commander Tariq Mahmood (Retired), Ms. Aneela Khan, and Ms. Sahar Malik underscored the significance of environmental stewardship and the adoption of innovative strategies in maritime sectors. Their sessions provided practical insights on protecting marine ecosystems and advancing responsible tourism practices.
The closing ceremony was attended by Vice Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz HI (M), Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations), who served as the chief guest. In his address, Vice Admiral Nawaz praised NIMA’s proactive efforts to raise maritime awareness and equip the next generation of professionals with critical skills. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting sustainable development and strengthening Pakistan’s position in the global maritime arena.
Certificates were presented to participants during the ceremony, with NIMA’s President and Vice President expressing appreciation for the enthusiasm and active participation demonstrated by attendees.
