**SHARP Reaffirms Commitment to Enhancing Services for Persons of Concern Across Pakistan**
The Society for Human Rights and Prisoners’ Aid (SHARP) has reaffirmed its dedication to delivering high-quality support to Persons of Concern (PoCs) throughout Pakistan. This week, the organization’s senior management conducted a series of comprehensive review meetings, focusing on strengthening operations, driving innovation, and removing barriers to protection and justice for vulnerable communities.
Led by Project Director-ICT, Mr. Aatif Afzal, the management engaged with project teams to assess performance and track progress, with a strategic emphasis on tackling both programmatic and administrative challenges. The meetings provided an opportunity to evaluate current practices and outline future priorities to improve the reach and impact of SHARP’s interventions.
A key highlight was the quarterly review and planning session held at SHARP’s Islamabad head office. The meeting, chaired by CEO Mr. Mudassar Javed and attended by ALACs, RDC, and TBB project teams—including team members from Lahore, Karachi, and Mianwali via video link—offered an in-depth review of ongoing activities. Actionable strategies were developed to strengthen protection and access to justice for PoCs. “We must continuously challenge ourselves to innovate, improve, and remove barriers that limit PoC access to protection and justice,” said Mr. Javed, underlining the organization’s commitment to continuous improvement.
Other review meetings brought together senior leaders including AHRM Ms. Huma Aziz, Programme Officer Ms. Tayba Hafeez, Media Coordinator Ms. Hina Saleem, and various team leads and their teams. These sessions renewed the focus on accountability, quality assurance, and collaboration across SHARP’s operational units, ensuring that collective efforts translate into tangible results for those in need.
Mr. Aatif Afzal emphasized the importance of these reviews, stating, “Every review is an opportunity to realign our energy with the mission — because the dignity, rights, and wellbeing of PoCs can’t wait.” The efforts of the RDC, Protection Project, and Admin teams were specially commended for successfully overseeing the relocation to the new Attock office, a move designed to enhance service delivery and accessibility for PoCs in the region.
SHARP maintains that continuous reflection and strong team synergy are fundamental to achieving meaningful protection outcomes. The recent meetings exemplify the organization’s commitment to overcoming operational bottlenecks, improving field coordination, and ensuring that no Person of Concern is left behind in the pursuit of rights and justice.
SHARP continues to work in partnership with UNHCR Pakistan and remains dedicated to promoting human rights, supporting refugees, and delivering access to justice for all PoCs throughout the country.
