The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in partnership with the European Union-funded Deliver Justice Project, has successfully completed two intensive training sessions designed to enhance investigation skills among law enforcement officials in Balochistan. A total of 60 officers from the Balochistan Police and Levies Force, including 10 women, participated in the week-long courses held in Hub and Zhob districts.
The training, which covered both basic and advanced investigative techniques, was tailored to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills required for modern criminal investigations. By focusing on practical aspects of the investigative process, the sessions aimed to strengthen officers’ capacity to conduct thorough and fair inquiries, ultimately contributing to improved justice delivery for communities across Balochistan.
Officials from both the Balochistan Police and Levies Force benefitted from hands-on exercises and expert instruction. The initiative represents a significant step towards building a more professional and effective law enforcement framework in the province, with a special focus on inclusivity and gender representation.
Supported by international partners, this program is part of broader efforts to enhance justice sector reforms and promote the rule of law in the region. The authorities hope that such training opportunities will lay a foundation for a more responsive and accountable security system, better equipped to meet the evolving needs of the people of Balochistan.
