**Pakistan and China Enhance Cooperation in Emerging Technologies at World AI Conference**

During the World AI Conference in Shanghai, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, met with China’s Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Shan Zhongde, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in cutting-edge digital technologies. The meeting underscored both countries’ commitment to building a collaborative, future-focused digital ecosystem.

Both officials explored opportunities to strengthen partnerships in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, and advanced telecom infrastructure. A key focus was on enhancing the existing Pak-China Optical Fiber Cable, which serves as a critical backbone for digital connectivity between the two nations.

The discussions also addressed the potential for joint projects in artificial intelligence and cloud platforms, as well as the development of new submarine cable links to further bolster digital integration. Another significant proposal included the establishment of a China-Pakistan Tech Hub, designed to facilitate innovation, knowledge exchange, and startup collaboration.

China praised Pakistan’s forward-looking vision for digital transformation and reaffirmed its commitment to close cooperation. Both sides highlighted the importance of sustained efforts to create an inclusive and technologically advanced digital environment, benefiting enterprises and citizens across the region.
