PNCA Miniature Painting Workshop Celebrates Pakistan Heritage

**The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) has inaugurated a miniature painting workshop as part of its 79th Independence Day celebrations, attracting participants from various walks of life including engineers, doctors, advocates, architects, and artists. The initiative highlights PNCA’s ongoing commitment to preserving and promoting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.**

The workshop, which will run for eleven days, focuses on traditional miniature painting techniques, notably the monochrome (Suffaid Qalam) and multicoloured (Guchrang) styles. This focus reflects a growing public interest in classical art forms integral to Pakistan’s artistic legacy.

Leading the workshop is Ms. Farrah, a distinguished visual artist and Associate Professor at COMSATS University Islamabad. An alumna of the National College of Arts (NCA) Lahore specializing in Mughal miniature painting, Ms. Farrah’s extensive career includes participation in more than 160 exhibitions worldwide. She was recently honored with the President’s Award for Pride of Performance in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the arts.

Ms. Farrah’s artworks are represented in major collections such as the World Bank and the permanent collection of the National Art Gallery at PNCA, underscoring her international and national acclaim.

The workshop is scheduled to culminate in an exhibition showcasing the works produced by the participants, and all attendees will receive certificates of participation. This program is among several initiatives by PNCA aimed at reviving traditional art practices and fostering cultural exchange across professional disciplines.
