The Pakistan Hindu Council has announced it will dedicate this year’s 78th Independence Day to the “Battle for Truth” (Ma’araka-e-Haq), highlighting the role and sacrifices of the country’s armed forces in safeguarding national sovereignty. This decision was made public by Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Patron-in-Chief of the Council and Member of the National Assembly, following a meeting at the Council Secretariat.

Dr. Vankwani emphasized the deep sense of patriotism among minority communities and expressed heartfelt tributes to the armed forces, stating that their sacrifices enable all Pakistanis to live in peace. He described Independence Day not only as a celebration of Pakistan’s creation but also as an ongoing reminder of the duty to protect national freedom. According to him, the country’s military and security agencies have played a crucial role from the time of independence to dealing with present-day security challenges, ensuring Pakistan’s defense and international dignity.

He explained that the fluttering of the national flag represents more than just independence; it embodies determination, sacrifice, and the strength of the nation’s defenses. By dedicating Independence Day to the “Battle for Truth,” the Pakistan Hindu Council aims to underscore the importance of the armed forces as the guardians of freedom and the pride of the country.

As part of the celebrations, Dr. Vankwani announced that temples, dharamshalas, and other religious sites across Pakistan would be decorated with national flags and lights, beginning at the start of the week. Special prayers for Pakistan’s peace, progress, and prosperity will be offered at every temple under the Council’s banner. The central Independence Day ceremony will take place in Karachi, with additional events planned nationwide to honor the contributions of the Pakistan Army, Rangers, Air Force, Navy, Police, Intelligence, and other security institutions.

Dr. Vankwani urged all patriotic minority citizens to honor the families of martyrs, veterans, and national defenders on Independence Day, and to actively work towards the defense, unity, and harmony of the nation.
