Punjab Sports Minister Chairs Key Meeting on New Projects and Youth Games
Punjab Sports Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar chaired an important meeting at the Sports Board Punjab, focusing on the approval of 88 new development schemes and the preparations for the first National Youth Games. The session was attended by Secretary Sports Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial, Director General Sports Punjab Khizar Afzal Chaudhry, Project Director PMU, Deputy Director Tariq Khanzada, and other officials.
During the meeting, detailed discussions took place regarding the launch of these new projects as well as organizational plans for the National Youth Games. The Director General Sports briefed the minister about the upcoming Independence Day Family Fun Race, scheduled as one of Lahore’s largest sporting events, with over 3,000 boys and girls already registered.
Minister Khokhar highlighted the significance of the Family Fun Race, calling it a major milestone for the city’s sports calendar. He emphasized the importance of merit-based selection for Punjab’s 360-member contingent in the inaugural National Youth Games and directed officials to provide comprehensive and coordinated training for all athletes from August 22 to September 5 to ensure top performance.
The minister also informed attendees that significant investments are being made in Punjab to construct new stadiums and sports complexes. These projects aim to provide state-of-the-art facilities and resources to young athletes across the province.
Following the meeting, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar visited the ongoing Hockey Summer Camp at the National Hockey Stadium. He interacted individually with the players, offering encouragement and support to boost their morale.
