At the Pre-Local Conference of Youth (Pre-LCOY) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, held at the Governor House in Peshawar, Mr. Umair Mufakir, CEO of the National Youth Climate Change Council (NYCCC), highlighted the crucial role of youth-led dialogue in influencing Pakistan’s climate policy. The event gathered young climate leaders and stakeholders to discuss strategies for effective and inclusive climate action.
Mr. Mufakir began the conference with official welcome remarks, underlining how the voices of young people are essential to shaping the future of climate governance in Pakistan. He participated in a panel discussion on “The Role of Youth, Women, and Faith Leaders in Advancing Pakistan’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Adaptation Plan (NAP).” In his remarks, he emphasized the need for inclusive approaches to climate policy, advocating for the involvement of grassroots communities, women, and faith leaders in advancing national and international climate commitments.
