National Assembly Internship Program Empowers Sukkur IBA Students

Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met with a group of interns from Sukkur IBA University, marking the conclusion of their placement at the National Assembly Secretariat. This placement was part of the National Assembly’s Institutionalized Internship Program, a key initiative designed to involve over 600 students from across Pakistan in parliamentary processes each year.

The internship program is aimed at engaging youth in the workings of the legislature by providing them with hands-on experience and training across various departments. During their six-week placement, the interns from Sukkur IBA University contributed to the Media, IT, Finance, and HR Directorates, developing several innovative IT solutions.

Among the projects presented were a Transcription System, a Voice Recognition Module, an IT Inventory System, a Case Management System, a Voucher Management System, and a redesigned website for the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA). The interns briefed Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on how these solutions could enhance operations within the Secretariat.

The Speaker commended the interns for their innovation and dedication, encouraging them to further refine these systems for potential adoption within the National Assembly. He urged them to pursue careers in public service with continued commitment, emphasizing the importance of ethical conduct, professionalism, and continuous learning.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed hope that the experiences gained during the internship would support the interns in building responsible and impactful professional lives, and contribute positively to national development.
