A major tree plantation campaign is in full swing in the Satu Kallay area of Upper Swat Forest Division under the BTASP project, as part of monsoon 2025 initiatives. The effort covers an area of 25 hectares situated in a moist temperate zone, with a planting pattern of 8 feet by 8 feet between saplings.
Various native tree species are being planted, including Deodar, Kail, Walnut, and Oak (Quercus). This reforestation drive marks a significant step towards the restoration of greenery in Swat and is expected to serve as a natural barrier against climate change. Local authorities highlight the long-term environmental benefits, emphasizing the project’s role in improving the region’s ecological balance and resilience.
