Pakistan Türkiye Academic Cooperation for Higher Education

The Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) is seeking to strengthen academic collaboration between Pakistan and Türkiye. In a recent meeting, PHEC Chairperson Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan met with Mr. Durmuş Bastuğ, Consul General of Türkiye, Dr. Mehmet Toyran, Education Counsellor, and Dr. Tahir Shah from the Turkish Embassy’s Counsellor’s Office.

During their discussions, both sides focused on ways to boost cooperation in higher education and create new opportunities for academic exchange. The meeting highlighted the desire to develop stronger partnerships between universities in the two countries, supporting joint research initiatives, student and faculty exchange programs, and the sharing of educational resources.

Officials from both Pakistan and Türkiye emphasized the importance of robust educational ties for fostering mutual understanding and development. The dialogue marks a step forward in expanding higher education linkages, which both countries view as vital for cultural exchange and academic advancement.
