Kazakhstan and Pakistan Enhance Railway Cooperation for Regional Trade

The ambassadors of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Railways to discuss expanding transport and logistics cooperation, focusing on new railway projects that aim to boost trade between their countries and across the wider region.

During the discussions, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin highlighted ongoing efforts and upcoming plans to enhance collaboration between Kazakhstan and Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of developing international transport corridors and diversifying trade routes, underlining railway initiatives as a key area that could drive significant growth in both bilateral and regional commerce.

Federal Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi welcomed the proposals, expressing Pakistan’s keen interest in strengthening partnerships with Kazakhstan in the transport and logistics sector. He noted the potential benefits of diversifying supply routes, particularly through the adoption of multimodal transport systems.

The meeting also included an invitation for Mr. Abbasi to attend the upcoming TransLogistica Kazakhstan international exhibition and participate in the New Silk Way transport forum in Almaty. The minister expressed his gratitude for the invitation and confirmed his intention to attend, highlighting Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to fostering international cooperation in transport and trade.
