The World Health Organization (WHO) Pakistan, in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan and the Punjab provincial authorities, has completed the training of 72 master trainers as part of preparations to introduce the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in Punjab. These master trainers will be responsible for educating frontline healthcare workers on operational planning and vaccine administration procedures.
This initiative marks an important step in the fight against HPV-related diseases, including cervical cancer, by ensuring that healthcare staff are well-prepared to deliver the vaccine efficiently across the province. The trained personnel will guide frontline workers through the logistics and protocols required for the successful rollout of the vaccination program.
Authorities aim to enhance public health outcomes through the widespread immunization of eligible populations against HPV. The upcoming training sessions for frontline workers will be held over nearly two weeks, enabling a coordinated and comprehensive approach to the vaccine’s introduction in Punjab’s healthcare system.
