ISSI Celebrates Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day

The Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) commemorated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with a special event honoring the vision and sacrifices of the nation’s founders, and celebrating Pakistan’s enduring spirit and achievements. The gathering brought together ISSI leadership, researchers, staff, and interns to reflect on the country’s journey and reaffirm their commitment to national progress.

Director General ISSI, Ambassador Sohail Mahmood, delivered congratulatory remarks, emphasizing that Independence Day is an occasion to remember the sacrifices of those who made Pakistan’s creation possible. He encouraged everyone to renew their dedication to the principles of unity, faith, and discipline, and to strive towards fully realizing the aspirations of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for a prosperous nation. Ambassador Sohail highlighted the resilience of the Pakistani people, noting that the country has consistently overcome significant challenges through determination and collective effort. He specifically referenced Pakistan’s recent achievements as evidence of the nation’s ability to emerge stronger from adversity. The Ambassador also praised the youth, describing them as the future leaders responsible for advancing the founder’s mission.

As part of the festivities, ISSI interns presented short documentaries that creatively highlighted Pakistan’s history, culture, and accomplishments across a variety of fields. These presentations depicted the country’s diversity and vibrant heritage, and were well received by the audience.

The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, bringing the celebration to a close and leaving participants inspired by Pakistan’s enduring journey and promising future.
