The Pakistan Polio Eradication Initiative has partnered with Ufone 4G to expand the reach of polio awareness campaigns across the country. By leveraging Ufone’s nationwide network and technology, the campaign aims to inform families, particularly in hard-to-access and underserved communities, about the importance of polio vaccination and counter misinformation.
The collaboration was formalized at a signing ceremony in Islamabad, where Ayesha Raza Farooq, Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication, highlighted the impact of this partnership. She emphasized that Ufone’s resources will help deliver vital awareness messages, especially in areas where access to health information can be limited. Farooq called on other sectors, including telecom, technology, and media, to join the national effort to eradicate polio, describing it as a shared responsibility and a legacy for future generations.
Speaking on the occasion, Saif Uddin Khan, Group Vice President of Brands and Communication at PTCL and Ufone 4G, said the company is dedicated to using its connectivity and technological capabilities for public benefit. He underscored Ufone’s commitment to supporting the polio initiative, aiming to protect the nation’s children and contribute towards a polio-free Pakistan.
As part of the partnership, targeted polio awareness messages will be delivered to families during each vaccination drive. The initiative seeks to ensure that timely and accurate information reaches even the most remote parts of the country, supporting ongoing efforts to end polio in Pakistan.
