PMYP Lahore Qalandars Trials Uncover Cricket Talent in Twin Cities

The Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP), in collaboration with Lahore Qalandars, has successfully completed a major cricket talent hunt in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, attracting thousands of aspiring young cricketers. The youth showcased their skills during the trials, highlighting the depth of cricketing talent in the twin cities and reaffirming the government’s commitment to empowering youth through sports initiatives.

Over the course of two days, large numbers of boys and girls participated in the talent hunt, impressing coaches and staff from Lahore Qalandars. After thorough assessments, one boys’ team and one girls’ team were selected from both Islamabad and Rawalpindi. This initiative emphasized equal opportunities for all and showcased the region’s passion for cricket.

Lahore Qalandars CEO Atif Rana praised the enthusiasm and turnout from local youth, calling the event a remarkable success. He expressed his excitement at the high caliber of talent discovered and thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PMYP Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, and the Higher Education Commission for their pivotal support in making the trials possible. Atif Rana emphasized that such programs are crucial in developing a stronger sporting culture in Pakistan.

The newly selected players expressed their joy and gratitude for the opportunity, describing it as a dream come true. They pledged to work diligently and represent Lahore Qalandars with pride, hoping to earn international recognition for Pakistan.
