The Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) has taken action against several marble and granite industrial units in the Sangjani area of Islamabad following inspections that revealed significant environmental violations. The agency’s enforcement team found that many factories were emitting dust, managing waste improperly, and lacked essential pollution control measures.

These shortcomings not only contribute to worsening environmental conditions but also threaten the health and wellbeing of communities living nearby. As a result, Pak-EPA has issued hearing notices to multiple businesses, requiring them to appear before the agency and present evidence of their compliance with environmental regulations.

The enforcement drive underscores the agency’s commitment to addressing industrial pollution and ensuring industries operate within environmental laws to protect both the environment and public health.
