Islamabad’s District Health Office has issued an alert following a rise in dengue virus cases in the city, urging residents to take preventive measures as the number of confirmed infections climbs to 122. Most recent cases have been linked to individuals who recently traveled to Murree.
The health authorities have called on the public to remain vigilant and prevent the accumulation of standing water in and around their homes, which serves as a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Residents are advised to cover water tanks, flower pots, and containers, use mosquito nets and repellents, install screens on windows and doors, and wear light-colored, long-sleeved clothing to minimize exposure.
In case of symptoms such as fever or body aches, citizens should immediately visit a nearby hospital or health center for timely diagnosis and treatment. The District Health Office has also appealed to the public to cooperate fully with government teams to help prevent the further spread of dengue in the area.
